Ken Griffin’s multi-strategy hedge fund major Citadel has appointed AJ Bolduc, formerly of Goldman Sachs, to head Asia trading and equity capital markets within its International Equities team in Hong Kong, according to a report by Bloomberg.
Bolduc, who spent nearly eight years on Goldman Sachs’ stock trading desk and most recently worked on share sales at Macquarie Group, joins as Citadel plans to significantly expand its capital allocation to Asia over the next two to three years.
The move comes amid broader regional hiring and expansion, with Citadel’s International Equities unit adding three portfolio managers in Hong Kong last year and five additional team members recently. Bolduc’s arrival follows the departures of Justin Haik and trader Keith Donan.
Asia-Pacific equity offerings totalled $262bn in 2025, the highest since 2021, with multibillion-dollar deals, including Syngenta Group’s planned Hong Kong IPO, already underway.
