Cordium, a provider of governance, risk and compliance services to financial and professional services firms, has appointed Richard Hudson as vice president of its cybersecurity and data protection consulting services.
Hudson (pictured) joins from Mizuho Bank where he was the Information Security Officer for 17 years and managed the information security program for all offices in North and South America.
He has over 25 years of experience working in an information security role as well as ensuring cybersecurity programmes comply with regulatory requirements.
At Cordium, Hudson will be assisting clients in assessing cybersecurity risks and providing ongoing guidance about how to address them from a regulatory and compliance perspective. He will report directly to managing director of cybersecurity and data protection services, Michael Corcione.
Hudson says: “The asset management industry is at an important crossroads: firms appreciate the importance of cybersecurity risk to their business, but the learning curve remains steep. In my new role at Cordium, I am looking forward to helping give our clients a deeper understanding of why cybersecurity matters – to employees, customers, and regulators – and the importance of having cohesive systems and policies in place to protect sensitive data and assets.
Bill Mulligan, group president of Cordium, says: “Richard’s appointment highlights the increased importance of cybersecurity to our clients and Cordium’s commitment ensuring their success in a rapidly changing area. Cybersecurity, information technology, and data protection is a vital component in our comprehensive suite of consulting services. We are extremely pleased to continue the growth of this practice by adding Richard to our team.”
