Cube Capital has expanded its research team with the appointment of Rui Tang as an investment analyst for the firm’s flagship Global Multi-Strategy (CGMS) Fund.

Although based in Cube’s Hong Kong office, Tang will be a generalist assisting with research efforts across all strategies and geographies. She will work closely with Cube’s other offices in London, Shanghai, Beijing, Moscow and Kiev.

Cube plans to hire two additional analysts this summer, reflecting increased interest in the USD1.2 billion firm from institutional investors.

Tang was previously at Fintan Partners LLC, a US-based fund of hedge funds, where she spent over four years sourcing, evaluating and monitoring hedge fund and private equity investments in developed and emerging markets.  Prior to Fintan, Tang spent three years at AT Kearney, a global management consulting firm, where she advised Fortune 500 clients on a variety of business problems. Tang graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

Francois Buclez, CEO of Cube Capital, says: “The CGMS fund’s impressive seven-year track record, combined with its solid team and recent awards, have attracted a lengthening list of institutional investors who are returning to top-tier funds of funds and are excited about the smaller managers who are our focus. Our team has already generated demonstrable alpha from both top-down and bottom-up perspectives, and Rui will help us further refine and extend our global reach.”
