Eisler Capital the London-based multi-strategy hedge fund firm founded by Edward Eisler, posted its best monthly return of the year in September with a 1.29% gain taking the fund’s YTD performance to 5.4%, according to a report by Reuters.
The report cites a letter sent by the firm to investors as highlighting that returns benefitted from bets linked to China’s recovery and the firm is holding investments in several asset classes that should benefit as the economic situation in the world’s second largest economy improves, metals, derivatives and stocks.
Writing in the letter which has been seen by Reuters, Eisler said: “The team believe that market sentiment on China appears to have pivoted, as the accumulative piece-meal stimuli of the Chinese government starts to take effect.”
Aside from China, Eisler also benefited from fixed income positions, according to the letter, while stock positions on semiconductor and tech companies also added to the positive performance.
