EUR1.28trn turnover on Deutsche Börse’s cash markets in 2014

Turnover at the cash markets of Deutsche Börse stood at EUR1.28 trillion (2013: EUR1.16 trillion), in 2014.

Order book turnover on Xetra, Börse Frankfurt and Tradegate stood at EUR108.9 billion in December (December 2013: EUR85.4 billion). Of the EUR108.9 billion, EUR100.7 billion were attributable to Xetra (December 2013: EUR77.2 billion). EUR4.0 billion were attributable to Börse Frankfurt (December 2013: EUR4.2 billion). Order book turnover on Tradegate Exchange totalled approximately EUR4.3 billion in December (December 2013: EUR4.0 billion).

In equities, turnover reached about EUR91.4 billion on Deutsche Börse’s cash markets (Xetra: EUR85.6 billion, Börse Frankfurt: EUR1.9 billion, Tradegate Exchange: EUR3.9 billion). Turnover in bonds was EUR0.7 billion, and in structured products EUR1.3 billion. Order book turnover in ETFs/ETCs/ETNs amounted to EUR15.4 billion.

A total of 15.6 million transactions were executed on Xetra in December (December 2013: 13.1 million). The average daily turnover on Xetra stood at EUR4.8 billion in December (December 2013: EUR4.3 billion). 

The DAX security with the highest turnover in November was Bayer AG with EUR5.5 billion. Deutsche Annington Immobilien SE led the MDAX equities with EUR864.5 million, while C.A.T Oil AG topped the SDAX equity index with EUR138.0 million, and Wirecard AG headed TecDAX with EUR335.6 million. The ETF with the highest turnover on Xetra was Deka DAX UCITS ETF with EUR1.7 billion.

The electronic trading platform Eurex Bonds traded EUR7.3 billion (single counting) in December (December 2013: EUR5.4 billion).
