Chris Rayner-Cook, a Senior Director of global trading at CoinBase and a former Portfolio Manager at several hedge fund firms including Millennium Management and Citadel, has left the publicly traded digital assets exchange, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.
The report quotes Rayner-Cook, who spent three years at Coinbase, as saying that he will “be embarking on a new crypto venture in Q1 of this year,” without elaborating further.
While Rayner-Cook has been in the crypto space since 2018 when he founded Ivno, a blockchain-based startup that was acquired by R3 in 2021, he has spent most of his career in traditional finance roles, including Merrill (previously branded Merrill Lynch) where he began as a trader, and his hedge fund PM roles.
