Multi-strategy hedge fund Verition Fund Management is continuing its macro hiring push in London even as one of its long-standing equities managers, Richard Heath, departs the firm, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.
Heath, a former Goldman Sachs executive director, joined Verition in 2021 after stints at Metage Capital, Oxford Asset Management, and Goldman’s emerging markets equities team. His exit follows a period of active team reshuffling at the $13bn fund, which is known for its collaborative culture but remains disciplined in portfolio management performance.
Verition, which has grown rapidly in recent years — from 500 staff in 2024 to around 750 following Affiliated Managers Group’s minority investment earlier this year — has been bolstering its macro division amid rising opportunities in global rates, FX, and credit trading.
Recent London hires include Afif Beyum (ex-Deutsche Bank), Preben Ramm (formerly Graham Capital), David McAnany (ex-BNY Mellon), and Maxime Lelong, a power trader who joined in September.
Verition’s London office, based in Piccadilly’s Lucent Building, continues to scale up its trading presence — potentially adding space as rival Eisler Capital winds down operations in the same location.
