Tech-powered hedge fund firm Fasanara Capital has appointed Sebastian Maciocia as Director of Capital Formation for its UK operations. Maciocia joins from Mercer, where he was a Commercial Segment Leader within the Financial Institutions Group.
He was also a member of the Global Wealth Management Leadership Team, overseeing relationships with wealth managers, family offices, and not-for-profits.
Francesco Filia, CEO and Founder of Fasanara, which manages $5bn in assets, said Maciocia’s experience in the UK market will support the firm’s integration into the local landscape and guide the rollout of its technology-enabled, asset-backed finance strategies across the region.
Maciocia brings more than 18 years of experience in distribution and capital formation. His previous roles include nearly a decade at BlackRock in the UK Strategic Alliances team, senior distribution positions at Winton Capital where he scaled the firm’s UCITS offering, and driving AUM growth at GAM. He holds an MBA from IE Business School.
Fasanara Capital is known for its focus on asset-based finance, digital assets, and quantitative strategies.
