Edward S Nadel is joining Lowenstein Sandler’s investment management group as senior counsel.
Nadel was previously general counsel and chief compliance officer at Star Mountain Capital and, prior to that, was the director of alternative investments at Credit Suisse.
At Lowenstein Sandler, he will counsel clients on fund formation and structuring, fund transactions, and regulatory and compliance matters.
At Credit Suisse, Nadel was responsible for the structuring and development of private equity funds, hedge funds, mutual funds, joint ventures, funds of funds and employee plans. He played a key role in structuring the spin-offs of GSO Capital Partners and Candlewood Investment Group, as well as successful joint ventures with Global Infrastructure Partners and Reservoir Capital Group.
Nadel acted as interim chief operating officer of DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, Credit Suisse's leveraged buyout private equity group, and supported all fund formation activities for DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, DLJ Investment Partners (mezzanine private equity), DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners, Credit Suisse Strategic Partners (secondary fund of funds), as well as the Customized Fund Investment Group (fund of funds).
At Star Mountain, Nadel was responsible for all legal and compliance matters relating to the operation of a start-up private equity firm, including the development of new products, negotiating fund investments, ensuring compliance, and coordinating investment adviser registration.
