The London Metal Exchange (LME) is to introduce caps on maximum rates charged by LME-registered warehouses following a market-wide consultation.
This is the final part of the three-year-long warehouse reform programme designed to enhance the LME’s warehouse network and to ensure that it fully serves the requirements of the global metals market.

Despite global bond investors being on edge at apparent central bank impotency, the probability of a sizeable bear market is low with a possibility that fiscal policy could prove effective, according to asset manager AlllianceBernstein (AB).

French asset management firm Amundi is launching a single platform designed to bring its real and alternative assets under one entity and drive its aim of becoming one of the leading alternative asset managers in Europe.
The firm writes that real estate, private debt, private equity, infrastructure and alternative multi-management are now all part of an integrated business, bringing together 200 investment professionals in origination, structuring and management, responsible for EUR34 billion in assets (as at 30th June 2016). Amundi aims to double its funds under management in real and alternative assets by 2020.

A Tanzanian gold mining firm part-acquired by The Montreux Natural Resources Fund is due to produce its first gold next year following “fast-track” development of two of its mines.
In September 2015, The Montreux Natural Resources Fund, formerly The Montreux Commodity Trading Fund Cayman, expanded its focus in the gold-mining sector by acquiring a 50 per cent stake in the Tanzanian mining investment company GRB Mining Ltd, based in Dar Es Salaam.
GRB Mining, which has developed a niche high value-low Capex-low Opex mining model, focuses on the production of gold from small-scale high grade mines in Morogoro, Tanzania.

CBOE Holdings is to acquires Bats Global in a cash and stock transaction valued at approximately USD32.50 per share, or a total of approximately USD3.2 billion, consisting of 31 per cent cash and 69 per cent CBOE Holdings stock.
The deal is based on CBOE Holdings’ closing stock price of USD70.30 per share on 23 September 2016.
The transaction will significantly expand CBOE Holdings’ product line across asset classes, broaden its geographic reach with Bats’ strong pan-European equities and global FX positions, and diversify its business mix with significant non-transactional revenue streams.
CBOE Holdings expects to use Bats’
