Izzy Englander’s Millennium Management has bolstered its growing emerging markets team in Dubai with the addition of Naveen Choppara, co-head of emerging market rates and forex trading in CEEMEA at Goldman Sachs Group Inc, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The report cites unnamed sources with knowledge of the matter as confirming that Choppara is relocating from London to work alongside Akash Patel, the Goldman Sachs veteran who joined Millennium in Dubai more than a year ago as a senior portfolio manager.
Millennium has been adding to its UAE team by tapping money managers and strategists from the likes of Amundi and HSCB Holdings Plc since securing a license in the Dubai International Financial Centre in 2020. The firm currently has more than 30 staff based in the UAE.
