GPP, a provider of prime brokerage, execution, custody and clearing services to hedge funds, wealth managers and broker-dealers, has appointed Todd Johnson as Chief Operating Officer.
Johnson joins GPP having amassed over 25 years of experience in the financial services, fintech and engineering sectors, and will report to the company’s CEO, Julian Parker.
He has held a number of senior buy and sell-side roles, including Head of International Prime Brokerage at Deutsche Bank and Head of European Prime Brokerage at Citi. He later co-founded Ivaldi Capital, a multi-manager hedge fund running USD3 billion when Johnson left his role as Managing Partner in 2016. Most recently, Todd was COO at betting exchange Smarkets.
Johnson’s appointment comes as GPP celebrates its milestone tenth year in operation. Having been founded as a custody and clearing firm in 2008, GPP has grown successful prime brokerage and wealth solutions arms to become an internationally recognised, fully integrated financial services provider.
Julian Parker, CEO, GPP, says: “Todd’s addition to the management team is an exciting and positive start to what will be an important year for the firm. He brings a wealth of top-level experience from a range of sectors, and I believe he will prove both a valuable asset and driving force for the company as we enter the next phase of growth. We look forward to welcoming Todd to GPP.”
Johnson says: “I am incredibly enthusiastic about the opportunity presented at GPP to join Julian and the team. The company has expanded steadily over the past decade to become an established and highly-respected service provider, now with a global presence. Our goal will be to enhance GPP’s path on this upward curve during the coming years.”
