Head of stewardship quits activist Elliot

Christine O’Brien, the head of investment stewardship at activist investment firm Elliott Management, has resigned after almost 12 years with the firm, according to a report by Reuters, citing two unnamed sources familiar with the matter. 

Christine O’Brien, the head of investment stewardship at activist investment firm Elliott Management, has resigned after almost 12 years with the firm, according to a report by Reuters, citing two unnamed sources familiar with the matter. 

O’Brien who joined Elliott’s research and finance department in 2011, was appointed head of investment stewardship in 2017 with a remit to develop better relations between the $56 billion hedge fund and other investment firms, including BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street.

O’Brien, who earned degrees from Fordham University, worked closely with managing partner Jesse Cohn, the long-time leader of the firm’s activist investments.
