Bobby Jain’s $5.3bn multi-strategy hedge fund, Jain Global, has hired former Citadel portfolio manager Kevin Mulhern as a senior investor on its fundamental equities team where he will focus on energy, according to a report by Financial news London.
Mulhern joins the firm’s New York office after nearly three years managing capital at Citadel. Before that, he spent close to seven years at Point72 Asset Management, having begun his career as an analyst at Lazard.
The appointment extends Jain Global’s aggressive hiring streak as it continues to scale operations following its July 2024 launch. The firm — founded by former Millennium Management co-CIO Bobby Jain — started trading with $5.3bn in capital and nearly 200 employees. It now employs over 350 professionals, drawing talent from top-tier hedge funds and investment banks.
Recent additions include Anthony Davis from Citadel as a credit portfolio manager, Bruce Kish from BlueCrest as a commodities specialist, and Joseph Kansao, formerly a partner at BlackRock, as a portfolio manager.
