361 Capital an investment firm specialising in alternative mutual funds, has named Jason Leupold as its new Vice President of Trading and Research.

In this role, Leupold will collaborate closely with the other members of the investment team to research market opportunities and identify trading strategies that systematically exploit inefficiencies, thus helping the firm deliver better investing outcomes for advisors and their clients.

Leupold most recently served as a research analyst and market strategist with Boulder, Colorado-based Arches Asset Management, where he specialised in exploiting trends in the commodities market. Leupold also spent nine years working with Crabel Capital Management, overseeing the firm’s Asian trade desk and foreign exchange desk, and developing models for inclusion in Crabel’s portfolios.

“We’re excited to welcome Jason to the 361 Capital team,” says Clifford Stanton, 361 Capital’s Chief Investment Officer. “Jason brings nearly 15 years of investment experience and will be able to add new perspectives on our research methodologies, trading platform, and product development approach.”

Leupold’s addition will also support 361 Capital’s continued growth. In April, the firm launched its 361 Domestic Long/Short Equity Fund, the fifth in its collection of alternative mutual fund offerings.
