Jürg Hunziker joins Avaloq Group Executive Board

Jürg Hunziker has been appointed Group Chief Markets Officer and deputy CEO of the Avaloq group. The former SunGard executive will join Avaloq as of 1 June 2016 as a member of the Group Executive Board.

With Jürg Hunziker, Avaloq wins a proven expert and experienced international leader. He has over 30 years of experience and brings with him a wealth of knowledge from the financial software, technology and banking industries. Hunziker joins Avaloq’s Group Executive Board from SunGard, where he spent 27 years. Among other major achievements, he founded SunGard Europe and played an essential role in launching and bringing to market several award winning capital market solutions. Most recently, he acted as SunGard’s group president for the global trading, risk and private banking software and services business.

Avaloq’s current Group CMO, Peter Schöpfer, will provide Jürg Hunziker with active support to ensure a smooth settling into the new role and act as his sparring partner in the coming months. Peter Schöpfer will continue to be a member of the Group Executive Board and Board of Directors of the Avaloq group.
 
Hunziker holds a degree in economics and banking from the Zurich Business School and attended senior management education programs at both the University of Zurich and Stanford University. He started his career in the banking industry at UBS in capital markets trading.
