Green will be responsible for monitoring investment risk across all of Mariner's businesses. He will be a member of the firm's Investment and Risk committees, and will report directly to Mariner's operating committee.
"Dmitry brings extensive experience and an impressive history of managing investment risk for some of the industry's leading investment firms," says Bracebridge Young, Mariner's Chief Executive Officer. "As investors have intensified their interest in all aspects of a firm's risk management and controls in recent years, Mariner has continued to enhance its risk management structures and remains committed to providing investors with exemplary risk oversight. We are very pleased to welcome Dmitry to Mariner and look forward to his contributing to our investment success."
Prior to joining Mariner, Green was a Managing Director and CRO of Saba Capital (2010-2015), a credit-focused hedge fund, where he built the risk function, served on the Investment Committee, and oversaw technology across the firm.  Prior to Saba, Green was Head of Risk Management at BlueMountain Capital.  Before that, Green was at BlackRock Solutions, where he focused on fixed income as one of the first team members in Financial Markets Advisory.  He later led the build-out of BlackRock Solutions' capability in credit derivatives, as the first Product Manager in that area.  Green started his career in finance at McKinsey & Co, where he was an Engagement Manager in the Financial Institutions Group.
