Neudata Limited has appointed Julia Asri Meigh (pictured), as a data analyst based in London. Her areas of focus and analysis include Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues.
Neudata consults with investment managers to identify alternative datasets that are emerging and are often unavailable on traditional data platforms.
“With my background in sustainable development, ESG research, and economic analysis, I am pleased to be able to utilise my expertise in harnessing niche research and data sources for clients,” Meigh says. “Neudata is responding to the growing interest from clients for more ESG datasets to identify correlations between ethical business practices and price movements.”
Meigh holds an MSc in Economy, Risk and Society from the London School of Economics, and a BA in Economics, Politics and Sociology from the Universe of Westminster. She has worked for several firms as an analyst and account manager covering a range of topics, sectors and the global macroeconomy.
“Many of our clients will become the first to know when important new ESG data is released,” says Rado Lipuš, CEO of Neudata. “Although ethical business practices are important conditions for driving long-term profitability, recent research finds that high ESG ratings are not consistently proven for alpha generation. This perhaps highlights some of the shortfalls with ESG data, such as that ESG scores are not uniform and can often be inconsistent. Further, quantifying ethical behaviours is subjective and can lack statistical rigour. Neudata drills deeper into ESG ratings methodologies and to those doing the hands-on research.”
