Newedge this week announced several key additions to its Prime Brokerage Origination & Structuring team in New York and Hong Kong. Alastair Sclater joins Newedge Prime Brokerage in Hong Kong office as Regional Head of Origination & Structuring, APAC. Sclater, who was previously with Mizuho Securities in Singapore where he headed up the synthetic prime brokerage division, will be responsible for growing Newedge’s regional equity and synthetic prime brokerage mandates. He will report to global head Vincent Tournant in London. Prior to working at Mizuho Securities, Sclater spent six years at UBS where he held a number of senior positions within its Asian prime brokerage division including head of UBS’s Singapore prime brokerage unit. Other key hires in New York include: Miriam Zaitoun and Jasper Chua, both appointed as Associate Director, Newedge Origination & Structuring team; Michael Dolan, Head of EdgeConnect, Newedge, and finally John Pitt, who joins the EdgeConnect team as Head of Commission Management Services.
