2019 year-to-date CTAs are still in positive territory at +5.98 per cent, helped by earlier gains from trend following strategies and an uptick from more fundamentally driven quantitative macro strategies in October. Trend followers suffered a dip in performance and were down by -4.16 per cent, meanwhile, short-term CTAs posted a marginally positive performance and were more reactive to market movements.

Liquidnet, a global institutional investment network, has appointed Patrick Strobel as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
As CTO, Strobel will oversee the company’s overall technology strategy, including product development for Liquidnet’s three business verticals, middle office solutions, data and analytics solutions, and overall systems architecture. Strobel will also be tasked with aligning the company’s technology offerings following the recent acquisitions of Prattle and RSRCHXchange earlier this year.

MayStreet, a market data platform, has assumed the role of market data provider for the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Market Information Data Analytics System (MIDAS).
The SEC has transferred the vendor contract by novation from the previous provider, Thesys Technologies, following MayStreet’s acquisition of Thesys’ business unit that operates MIDAS.
The SEC’s MIDAS platform combines advanced technologies and empirical data to enable the Commission to monitor and understand short and long-term market trends and achieve dramatically better insight into the functioning of the capital markets.
