PineBridge Investments (PineBridge), a private global asset manager, has appointed Henrique Francisco as Chief Technology Officer.
In this role, he will lead the firm’s global team of IT professionals, and work closely with firm leaders to define and drive the firm’s IT strategy. He is based in New York and reports to PineBridge COO Michael J Karpik.
Francisco has over 20 years of experience in leading large global technology functions across a range of financial services, including investment management and fund services. He was most recently Head of Distribution and Client Technology at OppenheimerFunds Inc in New York, where
JP Morgan’s Data and Analytics business and StatPro, an AIM listed provider of cloud-based portfolio analytics and asset pricing services for the global asset management industry, have formed a partenrship to develop Risk and Performance Attribution capabilities for portfolio managers through JP Morgan’s flagship data and analytics platform.
This offering will provide JP Morgan clients access to StatPro’s Portfolio Analytics platform, StatPro Revolution, alongside JP Morgan’s Fixed Income Benchmark Indices. The European Fund and Asset Management Association, EFAMA, has elected Nicolas Calcoen, Deputy General Manager of Amundi, as President for a two-year term, which will run until June 2021, at its AGM in Paris.
The AGM also elected Myriam Vanneste, Global Head of Product Management of Candriam, and Jarkko Syyrilä, Head of Public Affairs of Nordea Asset and Wealth Management (AWM), as EFAMA’s Vice Presidents for the same two-year term.

Barham, currently Deputy CEO, will take on the position from Mike Faulkner, who has decided to focus on the management and development of the Group’s range of macro strategies. Faulkner will remain on the Board as an Executive Director and become the Group’s Head of Macro Strategies and Innovation.

Yotta Connect, a provider of technology solutions and services to the alternative asset management industry, has appointed Andrew Rosson as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

CAIS, a financial technology platform connecting financial advisors with alternative investments, is partnering with Private Client Resources (PCR) to streamline the delivery of analytics-ready data for independent financial advisors and fund managers.

The Eurekahedge Hedge Fund Index was down 0.71 per cent in May, bringing its year-to-date return to 4.32 per cent. Roughly 15.0 per cent of the hedge fund managers comprising the index have recorded double-digit gains over the first five months of the year.
The global hedge fund industry AUM has grown by USD0.5 billion as of May 2019 year-to-date. Final Q1 2019 net outflows figure stood at USD46.4 billion, just under half of the investor redemptions totalling USD94.7 billion seen in the final quarter of 2018.

Nomura Alternative Investment Management (NAIM), a London and Paris-based quantitative investment manager within Nomura Group has launched the Nomura Diversified Absolute Return UCITS Fund.
The Fund aims to deliver absolute returns with a low volatility profile (close to 3 per cent pa), low correlation to traditional asset classes and low drawdowns. It will aim to achieve its objective by capturing a diversified portfolio of risk premia across fixed income and currency markets through a strategic allocation using systematic quantitative strategies.
