McKay Brothers and Quincy Data say they have connected the largest US equity exchanges at the lowest latency. The new services link equity exchanges in Mahwah, Carteret and Secaucus  the New Jersey Equity Triangle.  McKay’s network is currently offering two-way market data and private bandwidth services between Mahwah and Carteret as well as Mahwah and Secaucus. After the success of its initial Gaining the Edge-Hedge Fund Educational Webinars, Agecroft Partners has announced that it is to run the series monthly.  “When we first launched the webinar series, we were very excited about the technology and enhanced user experience, which is significantly better than a podcast or conference call, but were unsure how many people would participate. After our first two episodes we have had over a thousand registrations from 24 countries, including many of the largest pension funds, endowments and foundations in the world. The hedge fund industry continues to see asset redemptions despite performance that’s outpacing 2018’s challenging results, as reported by eVestment in April. Financial advisors and investors are set to benefit from new Category Definitions for Alternative Funds implemented by the Canadian Investment Funds Standards Committee (CIFSC).  They replace the single blanket ‘Alternative Strategies’ category, which applied to all alternative funds irrespective of investment mandate or strategy. The Alternative Investment Management Association in Canada (AIMA Canada) worked with the CIFSC to develop categories that recognise the diversity of alternative investment products in the market and allow meaningful comparison of performance between investment fund strategies. CFA UK has released the results of its latest quarterly Valuations Index, measuring investors’ perceptions of the value of equities, bonds and gold in Q1 2019. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has filed a civil enforcement action (Complaint) against the principals of Berkley Capital Management, a binary options trading firm with offices in the US and the Netherlands and two pools that operated as Delaware limited partnerships – BBOT 1 and Berkley II.
