The London Metal Exchange (LME) has appointed Gay Huey Evans OBE as Chairman of its Board of Directors. Huey Evans will replace Sir Brian Bender when he retires from the Board in early December 2019, as previously announced.
Huey Evan’s international experience within the financial services industry includes significant commercial, risk, governance and regulatory knowledge and expertise.

Accelerate Financial Technologies has launched three zero management fee, performance fee only alternative exchange traded funds (Accelerate Alt ETFs).
Each Accelerate Alt ETF has closed the initial offering of units, and is now trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX).

Scout Investments, an investment management firm and affiliate of Carillon Tower Advisers, has appointed Timothy Burger, CFA, as a senior analyst on the firm’s Small Cap team.
Based in Scout’s Kansas City headquarters, Burger joins the team led by James McBride, lead portfolio manager of the Scout Small Cap Equity Strategy, and will work with the team to conduct bottom-up fundamental analysis and valuation modelling to identify opportunities within the small-cap market.

BlackRock has completed the acquisition of eFront, an end-to-end alternative investment management software and solutions provider.
BlackRock says the combination of eFront with Aladdin will set a new standard in investment and risk management technology, vastly expanding Aladdin’s alternatives capabilities and providing a whole-portfolio technology solution to clients.

Invesco, an asset manager with over 30 years of expertise in factor investing, has released the findings from a new study “Active bond returns – powered by factors,” the first in a series of papers designed to help investors better understand the implications of factor investing in fixed income.
The study, which applies factor strategies to numerous fixed income vehicles, found that, even when a bond strategy is not explicitly labelled a factor strategy, its factor exposures are key drivers of active performance.
