The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has issued an Order of Registration to ICE Futures Singapore Pte Ltd (ICEFS), a Foreign Board of Trade (FBOT) located in Singapore.  Under the Order, ICEFS is permitted to provide its identified members or other participants located in the US with direct access to its electronic order entry and trade matching system.   The ICEFS application for registration included representations that its regulatory regime under its regulator, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), satisfies the requirements for registration under CFTC regulations. After reviewing the FBOT’s application, the CFTC determined that ICEFS has demonstrated its ability

Hedge funds were off to a good start in the first month of 2018, with the Eurekahedge Hedge Fund Index up 2.26 per cent in January. Among volatility-focused hedge funds though, short volatility hedge funds posted the worst performance in January 2018, down 3.30 per cent, their biggest loss since August 2015. There has been a 65 per cent jump in the number of firms referred to the Regulatory Decisions Committee, suggesting an acceleration in FCA investigations, according to Cleveland & Co, the boutique legal advisory business.
