Highland Capital Management has launched its first European regulated fund and will act as the sub-advisor of the BB Highland Floating Rate Fund. The fund has been launched as an Irish Qualified Investor Fund (QIF) in partnership with BB DTVM, the asset management arm of Banco do Brasil.   The fund is designed to replicate the Highland Floating Rate Opportunities Fund by investing primarily in US bank loans and other floating rate products that seek to generate yield in a rising interest rate environment. Stanton joins 361 Capital from Envestnet where he was the chief research officer, co-chairing Envestnet’s investment committee and managing the firm’s research department and asset allocation product development.   As a member of the management team, Stanton will lead 361 Capital’s portfolio solutions group, providing asset allocation guidance, fund analysis and portfolio research to the firm’s investment advisor clients and prospects. From 6 October, the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) will begin including SPX Weeklys options series – expiring every Friday, except the third Friday of each month – in its CBOE Volatility Index (VIX Index) calculation. CBOE chief executive Edward Tilly made the announcement during his address to attendees at the CBOE Risk Management Conference Europe, currently taking place outside of Dublin.   Currently, only S&P 500 Index (SPX) options with monthly expirations are used in the VIX Index calculation.
