IntercontinentalExchange Group is to introduce 64 new energy futures and options contracts on 12 May, subject to the completion of necessary regulatory and governance processes.
The new contracts, which will be available for trading at either ICE Futures Europe or ICE Futures US and cleared at ICE Clear Europe, include crude oil, gasoline, middle distillate, fuel oil, power, biofuel, naphtha, natural gas liquid, petrochemical and environmental futures and options contracts.
The following contracts will be available for trading on ICE Futures Europe:

City Financial’s Asia Macro hedge fund, Counterpoint, has launched with over USD120m in assets, making it one of the largest Asian hedge funds – and the largest Asian macro fund – to launch in the last 12 months.
The Counterpoint Asian Macro Fund is managed by Geoffrey Barker with City Financial Investment Company (Hong Kong) Limited.
There was no seed investor and capital came from a combination of investors in Barker’s previous fund and from new investors.
The fund is a discretionary macro strategy focused on investment opportunities driven by the markets and economies of Asia-Pacific. Its investment
John Riley, the legislative affairs director at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, is leaving the agency this month after a 30-year career in Federal service.
Riley, a former Capitol Hill staffer, has led the Office of Legislative Affairs while Congress debated and passed landmark financial reform legislation and as the CFTC implemented its key provisions.

Alternative investment manager Man Group has appointed Pierre-Henri Flamand as senior portfolio manager at GLG.
Flamand will join the firm in 2014 and focus on a global catalyst-driven strategy.
Flamand brings 20 years of experience in investing to Man Group. He spent 15 years at Goldman Sachs where he was head of the principal strategies group. Most recently, he ran Edoma Capital Partners, a Europe-focused event-driven hedge fund.

Caporale (pictured) brings 30 years of experience in financial services and technology.

The majority of European hedge fund managers that have set up business over recent years have been in the UK, data from Preqin’s Hedge Fund Analyst shows.
The UK is also the most prominent country in terms of hedge funds being launched in Europe, representing approximately 50 per cent of all known European hedge fund launches in 2013 and 2014 YTD.

Singapore Exchange (SGX) is building up its bulk commodity product offerings with nine more derivative contracts over the next two months, subject to regulatory approval.
These new contracts will further boost and complement the existing AsiaClear products to provide customers with access to more effective, efficient and comprehensive risk management.
Taking into account the evolving regulatory requirements, SGX aims to introduce options-on-futures for Iron Ore and Freight by June 2014.
In addition, SGX intends to enhance its flagship Iron Ore and Steel complex with Coking Coal derivatives based on key export and import price indices in July 2014.
