LME Clear launched its new trade reporting service, LMEwire, in time to meet the 12 February reporting deadline set out by the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR). The service, offered in partnership with the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation’s (DTCC) trade repository, began reporting on schedule with uptake from 30 per cent of the LME clearing membership.   “The tight implementation deadline for trade reporting under EMIR was a concern for the industry, and ensuring members could comply with the new rules in an efficient and cost-effective manner was the key driver behind this new service,” says Trevor Spanner, CEO
Options has expanded its suite of market data feeds to include 10G connectivity to the new Eurex Enhanced Order Book Interface (EOBI) feed. The new service, designed for latency sensitive market participants, will be available to customers collocated in Equinix FR2 and Europe.

   This latest addition to the Options PIPE Velocity platform will mean unified access to EOBI, Eurex trading, as well as Xetra market data and trading services. Deutsche Börse has acquired a stake in Bondcube, the new fixed income trading system, for a low sum in the single digit millions (GBP).

 Bondcube is a London and Boston based electronic bond platform which links dealers and customers in a single marketplace in order to boost the liquidity of the global bond markets.   The firm uses tried and tested trading protocols from other markets, such as equities, to optimise liquidity discovery.   Bondcube is ideal for large, market sensitive bond orders that have now reverted to execution via telephone.

Two Hong Kong-based asset management firms, whose accounts were frozen in a major insider trading case by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), have agreed to pay nearly USD11m to settle the charges against them. European asset manager La Française and Tages Capital, an alternative multi-management solutions provider, have entered into a strategic partnership. Under the terms of the partnership, La Française will acquire a 40 per cent stake in Tages Capital and delegate the management of its existing range of funds of hedge funds and UCITS funds with approximately USD1bn of AUM to Tages Capital.   Pascale Auclair, chief executive officer of La Française des Placements, and two other La Française executives will be appointed to the management committee of Tages Capital.
