The international derivatives market Eurex Exchange will launch options on futures that are based on notional long-term bonds issued by the French Republic (Obligations Assimilables du Trésor – OAT) on 10 September.
They will have a notional coupon of six per cent and a remaining maturity of 8.5 to 10.5 years.
The minimum price change (tick size) is measured in points and, as with the Bund options, equals 0.01, corresponding to a tick value of EUR10. Trading hours are from 8 a.m. to 5.15 pm CET.
With increased trading volumes in futures contracts on notional long-term bonds
Research by BNY Mellon points to significant uncertainty about the requirements of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD), despite Monday’s first deadline for authorisation.
BNY Mellon surveyed 70 respondents from Europe, Asia, the US and Latin America from companies with an accumulated total of over USDD5trn assets under management.
Half the survey respondents believe that uncertainty remains within their organisation, while a third reveal a fear of not complying on time and of negative financial implications.

Six of Newedge’s 11 hedge fund indices reflected positive performances during the first half of 2013.
The Newedge CTA Index closed the first six months of 2013 up 1.03 per cent, despite a decline of 1.5 per cent in June.
The Newedge Trend Index rose 0.76 per cent year-to-date as of 30 June, whilst being down 2.87 per cent for the month.
The Newedge Short-Term Traders Index increased 3.75 per cent in the first half of 2013, but decreased 1.18 per cent in June.
