Alternative asset management firm Black Diamond Capital Management has appointed Jean Fleischhacker as Senior Managing Director, Business Development.
Fleischhacker will lead the structuring and marketing for CLOs, other structured products, and mezzanine debt. Fleischhacker will also head new product development and play an instrumental role in strategic development and growth initiatives. She will be based in Black Diamond’s Greenwich, Connecticut office, working alongside Michael Moreno, Head of Marketing and Investor Relations and a Principal of Black Diamond.

NYSE Euronext’s London derivatives market, LIFFE Administration and Management (LIFFE) has now given formal notice of termination with respect to the services currently received from LCH.Clearnet Ltd under the Clearing Relationship Agreement to support NYSE Liffe Clearing, NYX’s London-based derivatives clearing service.
Subject to regulatory approval, LIFFE intends to expand NYSE Liffe Clearing to commence functioning as a fully integrated Central Counterparty (CCP) – NYSE Clearing – from the end of June 2013, including assuming responsibility for default management arrangements, risk management, collateral and treasury activities and banking and payment systems.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has filed fraud charges against New York-based hedge fund adviser Philip A Falcone (pictured) and his advisory firm, Harbinger Capital Partners LLC for illicit conduct that included misappropriation of client assets, market manipulation, and betraying clients.
The SEC also charged Peter A Jenson, Harbinger’s former Chief Operating Officer, for aiding and abetting the misappropriation scheme. Additionally, the SEC reached a settlement with Harbinger for unlawful trading.
In a separate, settled action, the SEC charged Harbert Management Corporation, whose affiliates served as the managing members of two Harbinger-related entities, as a controlling person in the market
