Matrix Alternative Asset Management and PVE Capital have joined forces to raise a hedge fund which with further commitments will total some USD150m. A survey published by RBC Dexia Investor Services and KPMG shows how some of Europe’s largest asset managers plan to capitalise on Ucits IV and identifies how these reforms will contribute to wider changes across the European investment fund landscape. The report, entitled "Ucits IV: Which business model for tomorrow?" says the vast majority of Ucits managers are taking a proactive approach to Ucits IV. The Hedgebay Global Hedge Fund Secondary Market Index provides hedge fund investors with statistics on the key aspects of the secondary market. Most notably it offers the average discount or premium to net asset value of hedge fund shares traded during the month. The Lyxor Global Hedge Fund index was up 1.1 per cent in September, taking year-to-date performance to +5.4 per cent. Alternative strategies generally performed well in September as macroeconomic data came in better than expected and risk appetite continued to increase. Crédit Agricole and Société Générale have named their combined asset management arm Amundi. The companies say the name Amundi blends the initials of "asset management" with an allusion to the world. New York based charity A Leg To Stand On, which helps children with limb disabilities in developing countries, has held its sixth annual Hedge Fund Rocktoberfest. Over 900 people attended the event, held on 8 October at B.B.
