The Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA), in collaboration with PwC Hong Kong, has issued a new report that sets out AIMA’s vision for Hong Kong to retain its status as a leading global financial centre, including prospects for its alternative investment sector.

Cheyne Capital Management is targeting €750 million for its latest fund which will focus on lending to European mid-cap forms not currently served by private equity investors, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The report cites unnamed sources as saying that the fund’s investment approach will see Cheyne provide single and multi-tranche financing from first lien loans to preferred equity, with the fund, which will have a six or seven year lifespan, set to focus on firms with earrings of between €10 million and €100 million.
Its target net return of 15% puts it inline with more opportunistic credit strategies,
Transaction Network Services (TNS) is now directly connected to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) from within the JSE colocation facility, providing managed hosting services, Layer 1 order routing and market data connectivity.
TNS will serve as a vendor of record for South Africa’s principal stock exchange, offering JSE market data and order entry access to key equities and derivatives markets in Europe and the US.
JSE operates the main equities and derivatives markets in South Africa and is the listing exchange for multinational companies such as Glencore, British American Tobacco, Investec and Vodacom Group.

Ether saw inflows for the third consecutive week totalling $7.6 million. The inflows suggest a modest turn-around in sentiment having endured 11 consecutive weeks of outflows.
The altcoin market has remained remarkably inactive this month so far with minor outflows totalling $0.3 million.
