Ortec Finance, a provider of investment decision technology and solutions, has appointed Deon Dreyer (pictured), as UK Managing Director, taking over from Lucas Vermeulen who is moving back to the Netherlands.

Fred Heemskerk, Head of Global Business at Ortec Finance, says: “Since opening our UK office in 2008 we have been helping our clients, both institutional and retail, to manage, measure and monitor their investment decisions. This blend of technology and expert knowledge gives our clients unrivalled power to question their decision making processes.  We are fortunate to be working with some of the largest, most innovative and forward thinking pension schemes in the UK and as such seek to enhance our UK team and grow our presence in the market.

“Deon has over two decades of industry experience and will bring a wealth of expertise to the role. He will be hands on working with our clients on their investment strategy, growing the UK team and enhancing the Ortec offering to ensure these industry leading tools are available to as many pensions schemes, asset managers and asset owners as possible. We welcome him to the team at this exciting time for the UK business and Ortec Finance globally.”

Dreyer adds: “The chance to work with the team at Ortec Finance was an exciting opportunity to use my financial markets experience and combine that with their industry leading technology. I have long been an advocate of empowering pension schemes to question their investment decision making and to use this knowledge to improve investment outcomes. I look forward to working with our clients as we help them further embrace technology to better manage their investment decisions and strategy.”

Dreyer joins Ortec Finance from Insight Investment, where he had held the role of Client Director. Prior to this, Dreyer held key investment consulting roles at Quantum Advisory, PwC and Aon Hewitt and has worked in the pensions industry since 1996.
