Matthew Chamberlain has been appointed as chief executive of the London Metal Exchange (LME), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX), subject to the approval of the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Chamberlain (pictured) will remain on the LME board and will continue as a member of HKEX’s management committee.
Chamberlain has been the interim chief executive since January 2017 and was previously the chief operating officer and head of strategy of the LME, and co-head of business development across the LME and LME Clear. During his time at the LME, Chamberlain has led the
Principal Global Investors has expanded its presence in Europe with the opening of an office in Zurich.
Principal now has offices in four European locations in London, Amsterdam, Munich and Zurich.
The Zurich office is headed by Martin Bloch (pictured) who has been appointed country head and will lead Principal’s development in the Swiss market. In this role, he is responsible for building relationships with financial intermediaries and institutional investors.
Bloch has almost three decades of experience in the asset management industry and joins Principal from Robecco NV/RobecoSAM, where he served as country manager, head of sales in
Dash Financial Technologies has appointed Ari House as chief financial officer.
House has spent nearly 20 years working in various capital markets roles and has accumulated extensive experience operating private equity-backed software and information services businesses.
He joins Dash from The Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS), where he served as chief financial & corporate development officer. During his tenure at ACAMS, he was instrumental in managing the firm’s growth and eventual acquisition by Becker Professional Education, a subsidiary of DeVry Education Group.
Prior to that, House served as director of financial planning & analysis/corporate development for
CloudMargin, creator of a web-based collateral and margin management solution, has appointed Laurence Jones and Marc Desanges to further the firm's sales efforts globally.
Jones, now CloudMargin sales executive in New York, joins the US sales team with 12 years of experience in operations management and leadership across collateral, clearing and over-the-counter derivatives.
Desanges, based in London, is sales executive in charge of business development for French-speaking countries and southern Europe. He is multilingual.

FinTech company NEX Group is planning to relocate its New York and London offices at a time of significant change for the business.
From the end of April, the NEX Group businesses in New York will relocate to new offices at 4 Times Square. Formerly known as the Condé Nast Building, NEX will occupy 82,400 square feet in the building.

SaaS-based technology company Alight has appointed hedge fund manager Rick Brandt as vice president of platform product management to drive the firm’s real-time data analytics strategy.
Brandt has a background in investment management, data science, product management and product marketing, most recently as portfolio manager at RS Investments and Cerebellum Capital, a San Francisco machine-learning based hedge fund.
Prior to that, he was a partner at Resultant Capital Partners, a start-up alternative investment management firm.
He has held senior investment-centric roles at Symphony Asset Management and Connective Capital Management, along with technology marketing and product-centric roles at GoDigital
Dallas-based alternative investment firm Highland Capital Management has appointed Damon Krytzer as managing director, supporting business development across the firm's institutional platform.
The addition of Krytzer (pictured)is part of Highland's ongoing commitment to reshape its institutional platform to meet the needs of investors in today's increasingly complex investment environment.
Highland is focusing on institutional product strategy that draws on the firm's core competencies in fundamental credit research. In addition, the firm is looking to develop other areas of its institutional business including private equity and real estate.
Krytzer will report to Brad Eden, who joined Highland in 2016 as
Axioma, a provider of enterprise market risk and portfolio management solutions, has appointed industry veteran George N Patterson as managing director, corporate strategy.
Patterson will focus on identifying buy-side trends and market opportunities to expand the company’s footprint and accelerate growth.
Patterson was previously chief investment officer, multi-asset investments at Bank of Montreal Global Asset Management.

Blenheim Capital Management has appointed four new partners – Thomas Kopczynski, James Wohlmacher, Gus Rossi, and Terence Kooyker.
They join Blenheim’s founder and chairman, Willem Kooyker (pictured), as owners of the firm.
The appointment of these four senior staff members marks the first change in ownership since Blenheim was founded nearly 30 years ago. Kooyker retains a majority interest.

GAM has appointed Adam Brown as global head of marketing, effective from 3 July 2017.
Brown (pictured) will be based in London.
Brown joins GAM from Columbia Threadneedle Investments where he was responsible for leading marketing across all distribution channels in EMEA and Asia. He has more than 18 years’ experience in the sector.
Brown will report to Tim Rainsford, group head of distribution, and will be responsible for both sales marketing and product marketing. Brown will work closely with sales, product and distribution teams to drive marketing initiatives, support the group’s sales efforts globally, and increase brand
