Maitland, the global advisory and fund administration firm, has carried out a major organisational restructure of the leadership team of its institutional client services arm.
The management team will now reflect the five fund services products on offer – traditional fund services, transfer agency, hedge fund services, private equity and real estate fund services, and ManCo services.
The entire institutional product offering will be led by Jim Clark, who joined Maitland in May 2014 from State Street and brings over 30 years of industry experience to the role.

RBC Wealth Management-US has appointed Bryan Mullin as head of the firm’s alternative investment platform.
Mullin (pictured) most recently served as principal and director of alternatives research at Slocum, a Minneapolis-based advisory firm that specialises in serving institutional investors.

Lombard Odier Investment Managers (IM) has added the eight-strong Volantis investment management team from AlphaGen Capital to the firm’s existing 1798 hedge fund strategies platform.
The team, which currently manages more than USD1 billion in assets in UK equity long/short and long only strategies, will be based in London and manage a niche strategy focused on UK small caps.
The team’s transfer to Lombard Odier IM will be implemented under a facilitation agreement and is subject to conditions including fund board approvals, applicable regulatory consents and requisite investor votes.

Candriam Investors Group, a European asset manager owned by New York Life Investment Management (NYLIM), has appointed César Zeitouni as head of long short equity.

Oaktree Capital Group has appointed Steven Gilbert to its board of directors, effective 24 October 2016.
Gilbert is the founder and chairman of the board of institutional investment firm Gilbert Global Equity Partners.

Jeff Parker has joined Wall Street Horizon, a provider of corporate event dates and information for institutional investors and traders, as an investor and advisory board member.
Parker (pictured) has been an entrepreneur, chief executive and investor in financial information and analytics companies.
He founded and served as CEO for Technical Data Corporation, Thomson’s First Call and CCBN.com (Corporate Communications Broadcast Network). He also served as chairman and CEO of Thomson Financial from 1988 to 1991.

Global law firm Ropes & Gray has named 11 attorneys as partners of the firm, effective 1 November, including Hong Kong-based Vincent Ip.
Ip joined Ropes & Gray in 2006 in the private investment funds group.
Ip represents institutional and other investors in connection with investments in private equity funds, hedge funds and separate accounts, as well as co-investment and secondary transactions.
He also has extensive experience advising fund sponsors on all aspects of their business, including the formation and ongoing representation of Asia-focused private investment funds.

Otterbourg has named Daniel Fiorillo as head of the firm’s restructuring practice group as of 1 January 2017.
Jonathan Helfat, who led the group for more than 25 years, will be stepping down from the position but will continue to practice actively with the firm.
