Lazard Asset Management (LAM) has expanded its US equity capabilities with the addition of Frank Sustersic as director and portfolio manager.
Based in LAM’s new Radnor, Pennsylvania office, Sustersic will manage two new small cap equity strategies: the Lazard US Small Cap Equity Growth strategy and the Lazard US Small Cap Equity Growth Concentrated strategy.
Both strategies will be available to investors as separately managed accounts beginning in mid-July, and LAM plans on launching a mutual fund for the US Small Cap Equity Growth strategy on 30 August.

Alain Demarolle has been appointed as non-executive chairman of the board directors of LCH.Clearnet SA, the group's French-based entity, effective immediately.

Carne Group, a provider of governance and oversight services for asset managers, has opened a new office in the Channel Islands.
Joining Carne as managing director responsible for the Channel Islands is Mark Hodgson, who will be available immediately to serve as an independent director on Jersey and Guernsey fund boards.
Hodgson is a highly experienced funds professional and has been resident in Jersey for over eight years. He has spent over 25 years in the financial services industry, including as a senior executive with HSBC in the UK and Jersey. He joins Carne from Capita, where he was
Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) has appointed David Painter as head of trustee and depositary services in the UK.
Based in London, he reports to Bertrand Blanchard, SGSS’ country manager in the UK, and to Michèle Besse, global head of depositary control.
Painter will play a key role in launching and managing trustee and depositary services in the UK for a broad range of investment funds, including UCITS and alternative funds, and actively help develop a range of integrated client solutions.
SGSS’ full range of trustee and depositary services will include asset safekeeping, cash monitoring and oversight duties.
Calastone, the global funds transaction network, has appointed James Colquhoun, former chief financial officer of AOL’s European operations, as its new chief financial officer.
Colquhoun joined AOL from branded video distribution company goviral, which was acquired by AOL in January 2011. He spent 18 months at goviral, building the finance division, and was part of the executive team who sold the business to AOL.

Iain Fulton has been appointed as the new chief operating officer of Malta-based Prestige Capital Management.
Fulton joined the company in May 2014 on a full time basis and will also support for various Prestige companies internationally.
This additional resource will ensure greater professional and management capacity and enable Prestige to achieve its ongoing regulatory obligations including the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) and European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) obligations, along with its medium term expansion plans.

Rob Laible has joined Liquidnet as head of the firm’s global performance team.
Based in New York, Laible will work in close coordination with the sales, technology and product development teams across all regions with primary responsibility for leading and driving the marketing, sales, execution, and servicing of Liquidnet’s algorithmic trading services, execution desks and analytics as well as management of its liquidity partner relationships.

Activist hedge fund Pershing Square Capital Management is proposing a slate of six independent directors for the board of directors of Allergan.
The six members of the slate are: Betsy Atkins, Cathleen P Black, Fredric N Eshelman, Steven J Shulman, David A Wilson and John J Zillmer.

Olivier Cassin has been appointed as head of UK institutional sales; Mattias Gustawsson as head of Nordic institutional sales; and Joost Wijstma as head of Netherlands institutional sales.
Cassin joins from consultant Bfinance where he was co-head of the London office and co-head of the private markets team. He has led the research and development team for Bfinance's investment consulting practice.
