Nobel Gulati has joined the board of Pictet Asset Management Holding SA – the Swiss holding company that controls all the asset management entities in the Pictet Group – as a non executive director, effective immediately.

Gulati retired from Two Sigma, a US based Hedge Fund, in 2019 after twelve years at the company. During his tenure he led the growth of the business with assets under management rising from USD3bn in 2007 to USD60bn in 2019. Before joining Two Sigma, Nobel held various roles at Citigroup, ABN Amro and NatWest Markets. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, he began his career with Raymond James, where he established the firm’s first Asian office, in India.

Nobel also serves on the Executive Board of the Wharton Customer Analytics Initiative, a leading academic research centre focusing on the development and application of data science and analytics methods across industries.

After the appointment, the Pictet Asset Management board will comprise seven members: Renaud de Planta, Chairman of Pictet Asset Management and Managing Partner of the Pictet Group; Laurent Ramsey, CEO of Pictet AM and Managing Partner of the Pictet Group; Xavier Barde, CRO of the Pictet Group, and four non-executive directors: Massimo Tosato, Richard Heelis, Rolf Banz and Nobel Gulati.

Renaud de Planta says: “We are delighted that Nobel Gulati has joined our board. His extensive experience in asset management, particularly in data driven quantitative analytical investments, will contribute to the future strategic development of Pictet Asset Management”.
