Schonfeld has expanded its senior leadership team with the appointment of Andrew Philipp, chief financial officer of Citadel and Citadel Securities, as co-president according to a report by Business Insider.
Philipp will join the $17bn multi-strategy firm in September 2026, working alongside existing President Andrew Fishman, according to an internal memo from CEO Ryan Tolkin. He will help drive strategic growth and serve as a senior representative to clients and key counterparties.
Philipp joined Citadel in 2021 after 16 years at Goldman Sachs, where he became a partner and held roles including global chief market risk officer. His team will report to Citadel COO Gerald Beeson, until a replacement is named.
The hire continues Schonfeld’s push to strengthen its leadership bench as it aims to compete more closely with larger multi-strategy platforms. Recent additions include former BlueCrest executive Michael Grad and ex-Goldman leader Tracy Backofen.
