Multi-strategy hedge fund Schonfeld Strategic Advisors has seen a shake-up across its senior technology ranks, with several high-level departures offset by new hires as the firm continues to invest in its trading infrastructure, according to a report by eFinancial Caeers.
In recent months, Tom Van Riper, COO of systematic strategies, Natalyas Dmitriyeva, head of enterprise data (formerly of Two Sigma), and Ziad Afra, head of core infrastructure and technology operations, have all left the firm.
Their exits come less than a year after Schonfeld appointed Thomas deBow from Alphadyne Asset Management as Chief Technology Officer to lead a broader upgrade of its platform.
At the same time, Schonfeld has added Neal Secher as head of core technology from TD Bank, and Nick Hopkins as head of enterprise data, with both stepping into roles previously held by Dmitriyeva and Afra.
Despite the turnover, Schonfeld’s performance has remained solid, with the fund up 6.6% year-to-date through August, according to Business Insider.
