Jaime Villa, Head of Macro Research at $13.8bn proprietary trading firm-turned hedge fund Schonfeld Strategic Advisors, has left the business after just 15 months in the role, according to a report by Business Insider.
The report cites two unnamed people familiar with the matter as confirming Villa’s departure from the firm he joined on London as a Macro Strategist focused on Discretionary Macro and Fixed Income in November 2021, before being appointed as Head of Macro Research in January 2023.
Prior to Schonfeld, Villa served as Head of Global FX Strategy at Brazilian Asset Manager SPX Capital, and also spent time at Pimco and KKR, according to his LinkedIn profile.
According to Business Insider’s sources Jerome Sargoussi, a Senior Macro Strategist who joined Schonfeld in New York from Eisler last year, is taking on Villa’s responsibilities.
