The London Metal Exchange (LME) is taking steps to boost liquidity on its traded options market, increasing the transparency of data reporting and providing greater protection for participants placing large options orders on the Exchange. The LME plans to enrich published data for matched traded options to provide greater granularity, and the Exchange’s detailed reports on options will be expanded to include the expiry date, premium and type of option. Independent execution broker and research provider ITG’s multi-asset platform for global listed and OTC assets, ITG RFQ-hub, has expanded its network of liquidity providers and is extending its footprint in North America. ITG RFQ-hub connects buy-side trading desks and portfolio managers with a large network of sell-side market makers (liquidity providers), allowing them to place requests for quotes (RFQs) in negotiated equities, futures, options, swaps, convertible bonds, structured products, commodities and securities lending.    Over the past few months, ITG RFQ-hub has added eight sell-side liquidity providers in the US and 10 new sell-side liquidity providers in the EMEA region.
Digital Realty Trust and GMEX Technologies are to establish multiple global hubs for new product exchanges and trading venues in Digital Realty’s facilities. The first hub will be located in London at Digital Realty’s Chessington data centre.
