eVestment has launched eVestment Quantum Analytics, a web-based solution that adds multi-asset class portfolio analysis and portfolio construction capabilities to the firm’s existing data and analytics offerings.
Quantum is part of eVestment’s revamped suite of solutions designed to analyse and report on both traditional and alternative investment strategies while offering flexibility through tiered offerings for diverse client types.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is introducing measures to promote trading on swap execution facilities (SEFs).
The Commission wants to support an orderly transition to mandatory trading of swaps, which begins for certain interest rate swaps on 15 February, 2014.

The value of assets under custody held by Clearstream on behalf of customers registered an increase of six per cent to EUR12.0trn in January 2014 from EUR11.3trn in January 2013.
Securities held under custody in Clearstream’s international business as international central securities depository (ICSD) increased by seven per cent from EUR5.9trn in January 2013 to EUR6.3trn in January 2014, while domestic German securities held under custody in the German central securities depository (CSD) increased by five per cent from EUR5.3trn in January 2013 to EUR5.6trn in January 2014.

FIX Trading Community, the electronic trading standards body, has published recommended guidelines for transaction cost analysis (TCA) in equities.
The recommended guidelines for TCA in equities is the result of work by the FIX TCA Working Group to address the challenges currently faced by market participants to determine the cost of trading at any or all points in the investment cycle.
There are multiple methodologies and terminologies in current practice, which can result in a lack of transparency and objectivity while producing contradictory results.
To address these concerns, the TCA Working Group polled the members to determine the

CME Group is to launch Euro-denominated deliverable interest rate swap futures (Euro DSF) contracts on 14 April, pending CFTC review.
The product has the same economic exposure as an interest rate swap with the margin and liquidity benefits of a futures contract, and at expiration all open positions will deliver into a CME cleared Euro interest rate swap.
Other key benefits include automatic risk offsets with our liquid Treasury and Eurodollar futures and options, and reduced clearing fees as futures are not typically subject to additional costs charged by OTC clearing members.

SunGard has launched Asset Arena Data Connect, a fully automated order processing and control solution for hedge fund managers, private equity firms and fund administrators.
Asset Arena Data Connect helps firms manage incoming and outgoing alternative investment data as well as scheduling and monitoring of data processing – increasing straight-through-processing (STP) and transparency.
Delivered as a hosted solution, SunGard’s Asset Arena Data Connect enables customers to quickly use alternative investment processing platforms including the Depository Trust Clearing Corporation’s (DTCC) National Securities Clearing Corporation’s (NSCC) automated and centralised Alternative Investments Platform (AIP).

Singapore Exchange (SGX) is revising the fee structure for its securities market to make trading more cost-efficient and to facilitate market making and improve liquidity.
The revisions to clearing and depository fees will be rolled out from 2 May 2014.
The change will encourage on-exchange trading, thereby enhancing liquidity, transparency and price discovery on the market.
The clearing fee will be reduced by one-fifth from 0.04 per cent to 0.0325 per cent of contract value. The cap of USD600 on this fee for contracts of USD1.5m or more will be removed.

Euronext has welcomed the publication in France of a decree authorising active open-end funds to be admitted to trading on regulated markets or multilateral trading facilities.
Following this legislative change, Euronext will soon admit active open-end funds to trading on its regulated market in Paris.
These will be available for trading on the Net Asset Value (NAV) Trading Facility.
