Hedge funds posted moderate gains in February while attracting solid net inflows, according to the latest data from SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc, with the SS&C GlobeOp Hedge Fund Performance Index recorded a gross return of 0.59% in February.
The index, which has tracked hedge fund returns since January 2006, provides an asset-weighted snapshot of the performance of funds administered on the SS&C GlobeOp platform.
The SS&C GlobeOp Capital Movement Index meanwhile, rose 0.87% in March, reflecting strong net subscriptions.
CEO Bill Stone noted that hedge funds continue to attract capital in periods of market uncertainty, including geopolitical tensions, rising oil prices, and inflationary pressures, offering investors risk-adjusted returns largely uncorrelated with broader markets.
