Scoach, the structured products joint venture between Switzerland’s SIX Group and Deutsche Börse, generated a turnover of EUR64.6bn at its trading venues in Frankfurt and Zurich in 2008.
Last year, it increased its market share of exchange trading in structured products in Germany by ten per cent to 38 per cent. Market share in certificate trading increased to over 52 per cent.
The number of executed transactions rose by 13 per cent to 4.9 million. Order book turnover in Frankfurt amounted to EUR26.6bn, a year-on-year decrease of 13 per cent.
Since December 2008, Nordnet Bank has become the first Scandinavian online broker to offer its customers the possibility of trading in structured products on Scoach. Now, end customers from Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark can trade in structured products in Frankfurt.
In April last year, certificate trading on Scoach was internationalized with the use of Xetra technology. Since then, around 100 Xetra participants in countries outside Germany and Switzerland have had direct access to all structured products on Scoach.
