Alternative investment specialist Tycho Capital has opened its first US office in West Palm Beach, Florida, as the research-led firm expands its coverage of the US hedge fund and alternatives market.
The new office will be led by Matthew Barrett, partner and head of investments at Tycho, and will support the firm’s relationships with US-based hedge fund managers and investors.
The expansion gives Tycho a presence in one of the fastest-growing centres for alternative investment activity in the US, with South Florida attracting increasing numbers of hedge funds, private capital firms, family offices and investment professionals.
Tycho said the new base will strengthen its ability to identify differentiated managers and investment opportunities while providing closer access to investors seeking diversifying sources of return.
The West Palm Beach operation will focus on manager research, relationship development and engagement with US investors across hedge funds and other alternative strategies.
The move builds on Tycho’s existing relationships with US managers, including those represented on its Tycho Funds platform, and reflects what the firm described as continued investor demand for strategies capable of providing genuine diversification.
“Opening our US office is a natural next step as we look to deepen Tycho’s international presence, bringing us closer to both managers and investors,” said Barrett.
He said the firm was seeing an increasingly attractive opportunity set across hedge funds and alternatives, alongside growing demand for differentiated strategies.
The physical presence in Florida formalises Tycho’s existing US network and is intended to strengthen relationships developed by the firm over several years.
The West Palm Beach office adds to Tycho’s existing international footprint, which includes its London headquarters and offices in Frankfurt and Madrid.
