Investcorp hires chief risk officer for hedge funds business

Investcorp has appointed Sunil Gaglani in the newly-created role od chief risk officer of the firm’s hedge fund business.

Gaglani will be responsible for monitoring the risks of investments made across the firm's Hedge Funds business including fund of funds, single managers, special opportunity and alternative beta portfolios. He will be a member of the Hedge Funds Investment Committee and report to Lionel Erdely, Head and Chief Investment Officer of the Hedge Funds Group at Investcorp.

Erdely, says: "We are pleased to welcome Sunil to Investcorp. I am confident that his extensive experience in managing hedge fund risks will further enhance our capabilities in this area and contribute positively to our investment performance."

Gaglani joins Investcorp with approximately 20 years of industry experience. Most recently, he was the Head of Risk at Mariner Investment Group where he focused on Internal Funds. During his nine years at Mariner, Gaglani was responsible for analyzing potential risks of the firm's multi-strategy and single strategy funds as well as for the development of its risk infrastructure. Prior to this, he was at Cantor Fitzgerald. He holds an MBA in Finance from New York University, Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Engineering from the National Institute of Technology in India. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
