The Libero Development Fund has beaten its objective of a return of 12 per cent net per annum for investors, returning 12.6 per cent.
Founded by asset management professionals Mary Murphy (pictured), and Iain Cahill, the fund is now in its third year of trading. It actively creates and trades, through private placement, European Medium Term Notes (EMTNs), bonds and structured notes. All of the securities are issued by investment grade institutions.

Returns from Quaero Capital’s Infrastructure Securities strategy have taken off after the manager backed Europe’s outperforming airports.
The Airports sector was up by over 10 per cent in the last month. Spanish operator Aena was up 11 per cent, and is up 30 per cent year to date (YTD). There may be further upside due to the excellent prospects for capacity growth which is expected to continue at a 9 per cent annual rate for the rest of the year.

Dyal Capital Partners, a division of Neuberger Berman Group, has acquired a strategic minority stake in private credit and special opportunities alternative investment manager, Atalaya Capital Management.
Dyal will become a passive, non-voting partner in Atalaya. All of the proceeds from the investment will be retained on Atalaya’s balance sheet to expand the Firm’s capabilities and increase the Firm’s investment alongside its investors.
Atalaya was founded in 2006 and today manages more than USD2.5 billion in assets under management across its Special Opportunities Fund and Asset Income Fund products as well as select other investment vehicles.

The hedge fund industry faces a challenging environment in Europe, with overall assets under management declining in 2016, and net asset outflows continuing through Q1 2017, according to a new report from Preqin.

Neuberger Berman has extended its range of alternative solutions with the launch of the Neuberger Berman Uncorrelated Strategies Fund. The UCITS Fund went live with USD71 million in seed capital from clients in the UK, Switzerland and Scandinavia.
The fund’s joint goals are to generate positive absolute returns and to focus on strategies expected to be uncorrelated to equities and fixed income, over a market cycle. White Oak Equity Partners (White Oak), a private equity investor focused on acquiring minority GP interests in hedge funds, has acquired stake in ROW Asset Management (ROW), a systematic quantitative global macro investment firm.
Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Alternative asset manager P Schoenfeld Asset Management (PSAM) has purchased a minority stake in CdR Capital, a UK and Geneva headquartered private investment office.
The stake allows PSAM, which employs a research based fundamental investment approach that spans many business cycles, to capitalise on CdR Capital’s asset allocation expertise as well as the skills of its quantitative investment teams.
With this transaction, the event-driven specialist will be more responsive to the needs of its global clients. As part of the agreement, PSAM and CdR Capital will be collaborating on joint ventures and building out bespoke client solutions.

The Guernsey funds sector enjoyed its largest growth in four years during the first quarter of 2017.
The latest figures from the Guernsey Financial Services Commission show that the net asset value of funds under management and administration in the island grew by GBP10.6 billion (4.1 per cent) over the quarter – the highest margin of growth since the first quarter of 2013, when funds grew by GBP19.7 billion. From the end of March 2016, total net asset values increased by GBP28.6 billion (12 per cent).

The first half of the year has seen a sharp divergence in returns between Event Driven and Global Macro strategies. These dynamics were also at play last week and so far this month, with Event-Driven extending gains and Macro funds underperforming. Interestingly, the the very same configuration occurred as of end-June 2016.

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has confirmed its non-objection for Euronext to grant direct trading access to US participants on the CAC 40 Dividend Index Futures and the AEX Dividend Index Futures.
Effective 13 June 2017, Euronext participants and investors domiciled in the US now have direct trading access to Dividend Futures on these two blue-chip European indices.
After achieving 100 per cent growth in volumes traded in 2016[2], the CAC 40 Dividend Index Future continues to reach new trading milestones in 2017. From January to May 2017, the number of contracts traded was up by nearly
