ACOLIN Fund Services AG, the Zurich-based distribution services company, has expanded its presence and launched an office in the UK. Lorcan Murphy, previously Head of Private Wealth EMEA at Barclays Global Investors, has been appointed as Managing Director.
For the past five years ACOLIN has been linking fund companies with distribution partners across Europe, and has established market dominance in Switzerland, Austria and Germany, as well as coverage in Sweden, Netherlands and Luxembourg. Currently ACOLIN manages distribution for 27 fund managers, and represents over CHF1bn in assets under management.

Alternative investment firm Bernheim, Dreyfus & Co has partnered with with the French Foundation for Disabled (APSH 34), a charitable association which helps the psychiatrically disabled through their rehabilitation and the process of reintegration into society.
For over 30 years APSH 34, together with the Fondation de France and the Montpelier Public Hospital, has also worked to reintegrate the disabled into formal employment (and also to meet their housing needs).

Aberdeen Asset Management (Aberdeen) has appointed Andrew McCaffery (pictured) as Head of Institutional Hedge Funds.
Aberdeen’s award-winning fund of hedge funds business has over GBP4 billion of assets under management. McCaffery will form part of the senior management team (alongside Graham Duce and Aidan Kearney) for the entire hedge fund and long only multi manager business. He will report to Anne Richards, Chief Investment Officer and Head of Alternative Investment Strategies.

The recent Swiss Funds & Asset Management Forum hosted by the Swiss Funds Association (SFA) addressed the impact of the various regulatory efforts in Switzerland and abroad as well as the outlook for the Swiss fund and asset management sector and found that there are a range of opportunities open to the country’s finance sector.

The final version of the guidance on anti-bribery policies and procedures was issued by the Government (pursuant to section 9 of the Bribery Act) today (Wednesday, 30 March). The Act will come into force on 1st July 2011.
