Several of the traded life policy funds distributed in the UK run the risk of actuarial error because the average value of the policies they hold is too high, according to Managing Partners Limited (MPL), the boutique fund manager. Research by MPL shows the average value of policies held in the funds isUSD1.9m, which would have been held by policyholders much wealthier than the ‘Average American’ upon whom life expectancy tables reflect. The average value of policies held in the traded Policies Fund managed by MPL is USD680,678. TLPs are US-issued whole of life policies sold before their maturity date
31 March 2011 – Singapore Exchange (SGX) today welcomes SEB (Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB) to its derivatives market as a Clearing and Trading member. JP Morgan has electronically executed and cleared credit default swap (CDS) and interest-rate swap (IRS) trades on Bloomberg’s Fixed Income Electronic Trading platform (FIT).  Listed equity option trades were also executed on Bloomberg’s Execution Management system (EMSX).   The trades demonstrate that Bloomberg’s Fixed Income business is preparing to meet the broadly defined requirements of the Dodd-Frank Act, which calls for increased transparency and market efficiency in over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives trading.  Bloomberg intends to register with the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a Swap Execution Facility (SEF) and Security Based
