Verition Fund Management has added at least 11 portfolio managers in the last three months from institutions including Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.
UMB Fund Services has poached Timothy Bonin from BMO Global Asset Management to become the company’s new director of fund operations, according to a report by Asset Servicing Times.
Bonin, who served as vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer of BMO Funds for more than 16 years, has over 25 years’ experience in all in financial services, with prevision roles covering the investment advisory, open-end mutual fund, closed-end mutual fund, exchange-traded funds, and hedge fund industries.
Bonin also held the role of financial services senior manager at PwC from 1993 to 2006.
Akin Gump has appointed William V de Cordova as senior regulatory counsel based in the firm’s office in New York. De Cordova advises hedge and private equity fund managers, registered investment advisers, commodity pool operators, trading advisors, broker-dealers and others on regulatory, compliance and operational matters.

IS Prime, part of the ISAM Capital Markets Group, has added to its Agency Execution team with the appointment of Sandeep Nanuwan who will focus on institutional sales, catering to banks, hedge funds, and asset managers, according to a report by Finance Feeds.
Nanuwan joins from NatWest Markets, where he spent over three years in FX Prime Brokerage in client services. He has also previously held operational roles at Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank, predominantly in London but also with secondments in Hong Kong and India.

O’Kane joined Options as part of the Graduate and Placement Programme intake in March 2016. He started his career as a Technical Support Engineer, supporting Options clients in the UK, US, and APAC regions.
Previously O’Kane held a Project Management role, where he worked with clients, engineers, and account managers to enhance the effectiveness of day-to-day operations across Options’ Managed Platform, Managed Applications, and Managed Colocation business lines.
Millennium Management has announced a shake-up of its its investment operations that will see chief investment officer Bobby Jain leave the hedge fund giant, according to a report by the Financial Times.
