US hedge fund Schonfeld Strategic Advisors is continuing its recruitment drive for staff at its London offices according to a report by eFinancialCareers. The $13 billion manager set up its London operation in 2019 and earlier this month made a key addition to the team with the appointment of Niamh Taylor, a managing director in prime and alternative sales at JPMorgan, as its head of EMEA. The funds has also appointed its first fintech advisory board consultants Frank Thorwald, Dr Mark Moore, Wayne Christian and Lord James Cecil. Hedge fund billionaire John Paulson has been named as the new chairman at Bausch, according to a report by Bloomberg. Paulson replaces Jospeh Papa who resigned earlier this week. His decision to leave is reported to have no connection to “any dispute or disagreement” Paulson, the company’s second-largest shareholder, has taken on the position with immediate effect. Bausch Health is a pharmaceutical and device company with a focus on eye care, gastroenterology and dermatology products.
RealBlocks, an alternative investments platform that enables global distribution capabilities for fund managers, has appointed Ashish Mittal as chief technology officer. Mittal joins RealBlocks with more than 20 years of experience working as a fintech engineer and a leader in technology within the financial services industry. Most recently, he was at American Century Investments where he was responsible for investments management, operations and compliance technology. Mittal will be focused on technology and product engineering for the RealBlocks alternative investment management platform. BNP Paribas (BNPP) has appointed John Jenkin as head of prime services technology. Jenkin joins the bank from JP Morgan where he worked as head of prime finance technology and brings with him over twenty years’ experience within global business critical technology. Sporn, who joins from State Street, where he served as Managing Director, will lead a US institutional sales team that provides clients with regulated, insured, and qualified custody, as well as financing and execution services through a single platform.
